DTCM to take part in Miami Shipping Convention

DUBAI The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is taking part for the fifth consecutive year in the Sea Trade Cruise Shipping Convention in Miami, Florida next month (March 3-7).

DTCM Acting Manager Cruise Terminal, Awadh Al Seghayer said that last year the Dubai Cruise Terminal won the most improved port facilities award and the best new terminal building award last time.

He said: "Expectations are high and this year our performance is bound to be measured on the backg of last year's success at the event."

He said the Dubai Cruise Terminal is the only cruise terminal worldwide to be operated by a government tourism department and it offers the very highest standards for passenger comfort and convenience.

He continued: "The Dubai Cruise Terminal has been created to attract more cruise lines to the region in winter, as well as to provide streamlined passenger facilities for the growing number of passenger ships using Dubai as a turnaround port."

Mr Al Seghayer added that Dubai's cruise industry had a bright and vibrant future"

Last year the terminal received more than 10,000 passengers and this year it expects about 12,000 cruise line passengers.
