Dow Jones Index ranks Philips Electronics as number one
DUBAI - Philips Electronics has announced that the company was selected by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World as the top most company amongst the consumer electronics, leisure goods, apparel and airline sectors. The DJSI World covers around 2,500 companies by market capitalisation in the Dow Jones Global Index and the top ten are selected according to economic, environmental and social criteria.
The analysed companies are assigned a sustainbility score for each of the three key areas and are ranked accordingly within their industry group. Philips received a 100 per cent rating on its envirnonmental reporting, 95 per cent on product stewardship and scored highest on corporate citizenship, philanthropy, labour practices and human capital.
