DMC proceeding according to schedule

DUBAI — Dubai Maritime City, one of the world's largest comprehensive maritime complexes, has announced that the project is progressing according to plan.

To date, 94 per cent of the reclamation work is completed, the ground improvements are 40 per cent complete, and the master plan is being reviewed and revised. It is evident that Dubai Maritime City is making tremendous leaps forward towards achieving its unique vision according to schedule, and beyond all expectations.

Meanwhile, 765 pre-cast concrete blocks have been cast to date for the Quay Wall. These are laid at an extraordinary pace of 40 to 50 blocks per day. The Quay Wall construction is going according to plan, and the placing of the concrete foundation will allow for the beginning of the final phase.

The ship lift assembly will begin on time in the first quarter of 2007, with the preparatory construction of the ship lift platform to start this October.
