DUBAI — Dubai Logistics City (DLC) captured the attention of nearly 1000 world wide delegates at the opening ceremony of the FIATA World Congress 2007, an annual global gathering of freight forwarders, running until October 22 at the Grand Hyatt, Dubai.
The event held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was opened by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group.
"By developing DLC within Dubai World Central (DWC) — the world's first truly integrated multi-modal platform with all transportation modes in a single customs-bonded free zone environment — Dubai has once again showed that it can play the main role in the Middle East's integrated supply chain management growth," said Abdulla Al Falasi, DWC's Director for Marketing and Corporate Communications.
"DLC is becoming a reality with the cargo terminals scheduled for completion by end-2008 along with related infrastructure. FIATA delegates have been hearing about this project for the last three years but today they could see for themselves that Dubai means business."
