The minister and a delegation of Kerala Government officials on recent visit to Dubai to participate in Gitex held talks with senior DIC officials including Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, CEO of DIC. “We have been in talks with DIC for the past three years and they have shown interest in the project,” the minister said. An official delegation from DIC is expected to visit Kochi and hold talks with Kerala government officials some time in early November. Kerala government has promised land and other basic infrastructure facilities to foreign investors. The DIC delegation is expected to put forward its requirements when they meet the Kerala government representatives.

The new IT township will be set up near Kochi Technopark. In addition to housing international IT companies the township will include residential buildings, schools and entertainment complexes. Following the example of Bangalore and Hyderabad, Kochi is also set to become a centre for Information Technology business.
