DFM, ADSM shares gain

DUBAI — Shares in Dubai and Abu Dhabi general indices advanced yesterday, with the former gaining 1.4 per cent to 4,213.81 and the latter increasing 0.1 per cent to 3,349.92. The value of traded shares in the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) General Index amounted to some Dh800 million.

Tamweel clinched the top-rank among the gainers, climbing 5.22 per cent to Dh4.23, a day after it dropped 0.74 per cent to Dh4.02 on Monday. Commercial Bank of Dubai also had a big gain, rising 5 per cent to Dh7.98, followed by National Cement Co. (NCC) with an increase of 4.9 per cent to Dh8.98, Al Mazaya Holding Co. with a climb of 3 per cent to Dh7, and Dubai Financial Market (DFM Co.) with a rise of 2.84 per cent to Dh3.25.

On Monday, NCC led the losers in the Dubai benchmark with a fall of 4.9 per cent to Dh8.56. Gulf Navigation Holding rose 2.7 per cent to Dh1.15, Amlak Finance advanced 2.1 per cent to Dh3.45, Emaar Properties climbed 1.8 per cent to Dh11.40, Dubai Islamic Insurance rose 1.71 per cent to Dh14.85, Islamic Arab Insurance increased.
