DUBAI — Winsoft is experiencing increased demand for Tasmeem software from designers and developers and will showcase the technology at Gitex Technology Week 2008.
The multi-lingual software maker is experiencing regular quarterly sales increases for Tasmeem due to increased demand from the education, publishing and design industries across the region. WinSoft is expecting a further sales figure increase following the release of a series of new fonts currently under development.
“Tasmeem overcomes the traditional challenges faced by the printing and publishing industry in regards to Arabic typography — namely that typesetting technologies based on letter analysis are simply unable to render the richness of the Arabic script,” said Ashraf Kessaissia, Winsoft’s Business Development Manager in ME. “By returning to the source of Arabic script traditions, our Arabic Calligraphic Engine (ACE) technology used by Tasmeem, offers today’s designers greater creative freedom in an Arabic friendly design environment. In addition, based on our users’ feedbacks, we have developed new fonts for Tasmeem,” he added.
