Speaking to Khaleej Times following the formal inauguration of the new 24 stores major expansion of the shopping Centre, Zakria said:" This new expansion is part of an ongoing comprehensive plan drawn up by the management to match the growing demand for a new shopping concept that satisfies the needs of the customers." "We can proudly say that Deira City Centre is a city inside a city, and a one-stop-shop for residents and tourists a like."

Asked what is unique about the new expansion, Zakaria, said:"It is unique for it is made as an electronic hub with stores positioned to resemble those found at an international Airports.

Asked if the mushrooming of shopping mall in Dubai will affect their business adversely, Zakaria, said:" On the contrary the continuous increasing of the numbers of shopping malls in the country or in Dubai is rather a stimulating factor which will help in boosting business in the market and hence in our mall."

He said:" The emerging of shopping malls is a great commercial phenomenon we shall always stand behind, for it indicates the sound and health economic outlook of the nation. The open market is no doubt an essential economic phenomenon which should not be phased out in the future due to the increasing number of closed shopping malls, said Zakaria. A large segment of the society still prefer open markets traditional concept which will remain stronger and richer as the population grow." He said,"With its 305 stores at the present Deira City Centre continues to maintain its dominance position among major shopping malls in the country."
