DUBAI - Jebel Ali-based Danube Building Materials Fzco has opened a representative office in Guangzhou, China to tap into quality building materials available at competitive prices for the local market. The new office will look after the procurement of building materials supply from China to Dubai.
According to Rizwan Sajan, Danube's chairman, currently five per cent of stocks in the company's Jebel Ali warehouse come from China, while with the opening of Guangzhou office, this is expected to increase to 20 per cent. Another important factor in the decision to open the China office is the availability of a vast range of sanitary fittings and hardware products.
He said: "Chinese sanitary fittings and hardware compete with the best in Europe and other Western countries at very attractive prices. The Guangzhou office is Danube's fourth representative office outside the UAE. Other offices are located in Kuwait, Bahrain and Muscat.
