Country Club plans to expand its property portfolio and fitness centres in the Middle East, its chairman Rajeev Reddy told Khaleej Times during an interview.
Country Club Hospitality and Holidays operates primarily in the Middle East and India with some presence in Europe and Asia as well. It operates over 70 properties divided into clubs, hotels, resorts and fitness centres.
In Dubai, the company has a four-star hotel with more than 100 rooms featuring 18 executive rooms, 12 executive suites and 72 deluxe rooms with six restaurants.
"Our hotel in Bur Dubai has received a very good response from our NRI members, among others. It is a much sought-after holiday destination as it is situated in close proximity to all main attractions in the city. We are looking at expansion into other parts of the GCC in the next two years," Reddy informed.
The company has enjoyed a double-digit year-on-year growth, he added. It has around 400,000 members around the globe.
"We have received a great response from this region, which has only grown stronger in recent years. As our offering for the NRI community here as well as the holiday destinations we offer in India are so diverse, the interest from this region has been great," the chairman explained.
Talking about the performance of the company's health clubs and expansion plans, Reddy said: "We have a strong presence in this sector with our fitness centres located across Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Muscat. We have received a positive response from people and we are actively looking at expanding our health and fitness centres in Dubai and across the Middle East."
Country Club ended 2015 on a high note by hosting Asia's biggest new year party across major cities in India and the Middle East with some of the biggest names in Bollywood performing. It received a tremendous response from members, the chairman claimed.
Responding to a question about challenges to growth, he replied: "Our response from this market has been great so far, and we haven't faced any challenges here. Our members get a lot of benefits and access to all our country clubs in India, so there hasn't been any challenge."
