The Cocoona Centre for Aesthetic Transformation has announced a patient safety assurance cover of up to Dh50,000 for any post-operative complications of plastic surgery patients at its centre.

According to industry estimates, the number of plastic surgeons per capita in Dubai is among the highest in the world.

The new patient safety assurance comes amidst a number of incidents where patients suffer from a number of complications from plastic surgeries in centres globally, with some having long-term implications.

The patient safety assurance will treat any unexpected complication from medical treatment at Cocoona for those who had undergone treatment there.

Valid for up to 10 days from the original discharge date of the procedure, the assurance covers emergency medical expense up to Dh50,000 for any additional treatment expenses and will in no circumstance be reimbursed in cash or kind.

Dr Sanjay Parashar, consultant plastic surgeon and founder of Cocoona Centre, said: "We wanted to reassure the patients that they are priceless to us and they are in safe hands. Our focus is always on improving patients' lives and creating value by addressing post-operative complications that can affect recovery and create enormous cost burdens on the patients."
