The innovative 'eToilet' in line with Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was duly showcased in the UN Innovation exhibition and recognized by the UN's country representative for its game changing potential.
What makes the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit special for Eram Group and its head is that Mr. Modi himself bestowed on Dr. Ahmed the Toilet Titan award at the Safaigiri Summit in 2015.
In many ways it saluted the Eram work ethos and the dedication of its 12,000 employees resident in 20 countries for their sensitivity to the needs of the home country. Dr. Ahmed, who hails from Kerala, has 25 years of experience under his belt and has built an enviable tech empire, his intent to use his expertise and his corporate infrastructure for the benefit of rural India in particular. Dr. Ahmed has also established winning partnerships with globally renowned firms and has won world-class clients. The group's initiatives in the sanitation sector have been globally lauded as has eToilet, India's only full-fledged automated toilet and sanitation technology exporter of the country. Eram is now exporting it to Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Oman and Haiti. eToilet has also received over 45+ national and international awards and recognition.
Dr. Ahmed has also collaborated with United Nations Information Centre, India, for propagating Sustainable Development Goals.
The ESPOiR ACADEMY is another venture of which Dr Siddeek is justifiably proud. This skill-training institute under Kerala Academy of skill Excellence by Government of Kerala (KASE) is an authorized training centre of Ministry of External Affairs and affiliated to NSDC. The mission is to teach and fine tune the practical skills of students to help them gain employment in oil and gas industries through programs in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and trades. ESPOiR has trained more than 900 students and placed students both in India and abroad.
"My contribution to society is something that I have learnt from my parents. They have always been soft and generous to people's sufferings and what I do today is what I have seen growing up. It's an irreplaceable part of my life," says Dr. Siddeek Ahmed.
Through a personal initiative, Dr. Ahmed renovated and recharged 200+ public wells and 100+ public ponds in his hometown in Kerala, which positively impacted more than 5,000 families.
Dr. Siddeek aims to support with sensible community outreach projects in the realm of healthcare, habitat and essential supplies, education, disaster relief, employment support, water conservation (Jal Shakti Abhiyan) and sanitation projects in line with Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
Making meaningful interventions by employing the latest technologies to tackle today's challenges is what drives Dr. Ahmed and India and the region are richer for it.
