The licence allows Citi to operate a full-fledged corporate branch, enabling the bank to engage in local and foreign currency corporate banking business.

This announcement came after the appointment in December 2006 of Farhan Mahmood as Citi's Country Head for Qatar.

Citibank N.A. branch in Qatar will be located at the new QFC building in Doha's West Bay area and will offer Citibank's full suite of corporate and investment banking products and services.
