The soft opening of the Mall attracted a large number of visitors and the shop-owners got busy from the very first day of trading.

“We have opened two halls of the retail section of the Mall for business. The halls have 500 outlets offering a variety of Chinese consumer products. This means that 70 per cent of the retail section is open,” Adnan Dahnous, director of Gulf Chinese Trading Corporation, the owner of Mall, told Khaleej Times after the opening. “It was great, it was very good. It was crowded as crazy,” he said. “The number of visitors and their enthusiasm was much above our expectations. There was a long queue of cars approaching the Mall since morning and the parking was full,” Dahnous said. Coco, a Chinese woman owner of an outlet at Mall by the name of Andaly FZCO, was excited that wait is over and the Mall has opened.

“I am looking forward to busy days ahead. This is the first Mall for Chinese products in Ajman and the products are available to buyers at a cheap price,” she said. “I am expecting that it will be a popular place among people to come here to buy,” Coco added.

Coco’s outlet at the Mall offers shoes, ladies handbags, and clothes among other items. She owns manufacturing facilities in Guangzhou province of China as well as in Hong Kong. A Chinese cultural, musical and dance programme was held in the evening as a welcome event for the visitors when there were more people and families coming to the Mall from neighbouring emirates like Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.
