Chemstore invests in Phase III facility in JAFZ

DUBAI — Chemstore FZCO, a joint venture between Modern Freight Company L.L.C. (MFC) and Horizon Terminals Limited (HTL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), yesterday announced the official opening of Phase III of its exclusive facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Chemstore offers a state-of-the-art storage centre for hazardous chemicals, with 8,000 square metres of storage space, capacity for 36,000 drums and loading bays capable of handling up to 30 trucks at any one time.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hussain Sultan, CEO and Board Member of ENOC Group of Companies, said: "In line with our commitment to provide excellence in our products and services, the investment in Chemstore Phase III ensures it is the most comprehensive, safety-conscious and modern facility in the UAE."

Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Chemstore accommodates a wide range of hazardous chemicals, drummed or bagged and palletised or non-palletised, falling under NFPA 30 classifications IB, IC, II, IIIA and IIIB, to offer maximum flexibility.

"Continuous monitoring and enhancement of all safety systems as well as the ability to meet a diverse range of storage and transportation needs, has resulted in a successful venture that caters to leading world-class companies," said Sultan adding: "With this expansion we expect to see significant growth in the coming year."

As the regional trading and logistics hub for the region, the Jebel Ali Free Zone is the ideal location for trading in the Middle East, South Asia, Africa and the CIS.

A high percentage of Chemstore's clients are based in the US, Europe and the Far East and are able to service these markets through Chemstore.
