Big Soldier, a period action-comedy, stars Chan as an old fighter who abducts a young general (Wang Lee-hom) of an enemy state and takes him on a long journey to collect the reward.

It is being directed by Ding Sheng, whose first film The Underdog Knight was released in China in 2008.

Chan’s latest release, the gangster thriller The Shinjuku Incident, opened in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia on Thursday. It will open in Japan on May 1, but won’t get distribution in China because of its violent content.
