Burj Al Arab wins best hotel in Mideast award

DUBAI - Readers of Germany's leading business travel magazine, Business Traveller, awarded Jumeirah International's world-renowned Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai two top accolades during the 2003 Business Traveller Germany Awards Ceremony, held in Frankfurt recently.

Burj Al Arab was voted 'Best Hotel in the Middle East' and Runner Up in the 'Best Hotel in the World' category, while its sister property The Jumeirah Beach Hotel received the Runner Up award for 'Best Hotel in the Middle East'.

Burj Al Arab, soaring 321 metres, is a unique sail-shaped building stands on a man-made island some 280 metres offshore and combines the latest technology with a long-standing reputation of Arabian hospitality.

Convenience, luxury and a highly personalised service is enhanced by private reception desks on every floor, in-suite check-in and a brigade of exclusive butlers.

Each of the 202 duplex suites feature floor to ceiling windows, offering a breathtaking view of the sea, and range from 170 sq. m to 780 square metres in floor area.

All are equipped with personal business centres incorporating the latest technology, laptop computers and internet access.

Since its establishment in 1997, Jumeirah International has won over 70 international travel and tourism awards, which have been received from around the world, highlighting Dubai as a truly international destination.
