DUBAI - A unique 'build-it-yourself' twin-jet 'The Maverick' will make its debut at Dubai air show,
The eighth international aerospace exhibition to be held at the Airport Expo Dubai from December 7-11.
The Maverick is a small business airliner already successful in the United States. Now Georgia's Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing (TAM) has been awarded the sole foreign licence to build the five-seater jet or supply it in kit form. TAM's factory also makes the Sukhoi 25 ground attack jet and it's looking for customers which need Boeing 737 maintenance.
The first test jet built by TAM in the Georgian capital will be in Dubai to try and impress potential buyers across the Middle East. "Maverick is a leader in its class in America and we think our version can be highly successful here in the AGCC," said Eugeniya Chebotareva, TAM representative in the UAE. TAM President Pantico Tordia will be leading the sales pitch and highlighting the technologically innovative Maverick.
"The airframe is made out of carbon fibre glass and is easy to build, using reliable, proven components and construction methods. But they also push the limits of innovation and at a lower cost than aircraft built in the US," Chebotareva added.
