Bahrain says Batelco slowing telecom privatisation
MANAMA - Bahrain's telecoms regulator yesterday accused the Gulf state's telecoms monopoly Bahrain Telecommunications(Batelco) of hampering efforts to open the sector to private investors.
"Batelco has, in all stages of opening the market, responded slowly when asked to submit comments on substantial matters and was slow in providing accurate information about ierations," a statement published by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said.
