Badea discusses ties with four African countries

ABU DHABI — Sami Lutfi, Director General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, Badea, has visited four African countries — Sierra Leone, Mali, Guinea and Cote d’ivoire — during which he held talks with officials of the four countries on joint cooperation between the Badea and the four respective countries. They also discussed ways to implement existing and future projects.

Badea has, as on June 2005, spent a total amount of about $354 million on 92 development projects in the four countries. Out of the total amount, projects in Sierra Leone accounted for $44 million, $114 for

Mali, while Guinea and Cote d’ivoire got $138 million and $54 million respectively.

Since its establishment up to June 2005, Badea’s total financial support to African countries stood at more than $2.971 billion.
