In the RX7 class qualifying the top eight drivers were covered by less than a second and headed up by perennial front runner Rami Azzam.

He in turn was chased hard by several ultra-quick drivers including: Tom Soubiron, Mohammed Al Mutawaa, Hussain Umid Ali, Anas Al Halabi, Atef Al Barwani, Talal Al Jasmi, Faris Theyab, Haytham Sultan Ali and Giovanni Betti.

In race one Azzam got a good start, taking the lead as behind him a trio of drivers slugged it out for the runner up spot. In the end it was Al Barwani who took second place after edging out Al Mutawaa in third and Umid Ali fourth, the three karts crossing the line almost side-by-side.

Al Mutawaa fought back in race two to take the chequered flag after a race long duel with Azzam - the pair inseparable throughout the race as they tried to out strategise one another, but Al Mutawaa managing to get ahead late in the race.
