Airlines and Dubai airport have issued travel advisories for passengers leaving between December 18 and 19. Rainy and windy weather is expected across the UAE, which may cause delays on the roads and affect flight schedules.
Emirates Airline said unstable weather is expected from December 18 until midday on December 19, urging customers departing Dubai during this period to arrive at the airport at least four hours before their flight.

The airline warned that rain and strong winds could affect road visibility and driving conditions, advising passengers to allow extra travel time or use the Dubai Metro where possible.
As a precaution, Emirates said First and Business Class customers with confirmed Chauffeur Drive bookings will be picked up one hour earlier than their scheduled collection time.
“Customers are requested to ensure their contact details are up to date through Manage Your Booking to receive timely updates,” the airline said, adding that passengers should regularly check their flight status during the period.
As inclement weather persists, flydubai advised its passengers to arrive at Dubai International Airport (DXB) 4 hours before their flight, in anticipation of traffic delays to DXB or interruptions in airport operations. Passengers can check in online between 75 minutes and 48 hours before departure.
Passengers departing from Dubai International Airport (DXB) are urged to check their flight status with their airline and allow extra time for their journey. Where possible, commuters are encouraged to use metro and plan their commute to avoid delays.
Separately, India’s budget airline, IndiGo, also issued a weather advisory: “Weather conditions across the UAE are forecast to shift, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms expected. In light of this evolving situation, there may be intermittent impacts to flight operations at various points throughout the day.”
Passengers were advised to monitor flight status updates, allow extra time to reach the airport due to potential road delays, and stay alert for airline notifications.
Affected customers may be able to explore alternative travel options or request refunds through the airline’s self-service channels, depending on the impact on their flight.
Airlines have urged travellers to remain patient and plan ahead as the country experiences unstable weather during the busy holiday travel period.
