UAE-India travel: Etihad Airways' Delhi flight diverted due to bad weather
Delhi Airport had issued an advisory at 5.45pm UAE time stating that some flights have been impacted due to the conditions

UAE flagship carrier Etihad Airways has diverted its New Delhi-bound flight on Friday, April 11, due to the adverse weather conditions in the Indian capital.
Etihad Airways flight EY216, which took off from the Zayed International Airport at 2.42 UAE time, was diverted to Jaipur due to the bad weather.

"Etihad Airways flight EY216 from Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) on 11 April has diverted to Jaipur Airport (JAI) due to adverse weather conditions in Delhi," the airline said on its website.is e

"Subsequently, the return flight EY217 from Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport to Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport on 11 April will also be delayed. We apologise for the disruption to the flight and our teams are doing their best to help you on your journey. The safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We apologise for any disruption to your travel plans," the carrier added.
Emirates
Meanwhile, Emirates' EK 515 is pencilled in to depart from Delhi to Dubai at 10pm UAE time, while EK512 has a 9.40pm departure time from Dubai to Delhi.
Air Arabia
Sharjah's Air Arabia flight G9466, which was scheduled to depart Delhi at 6.35pm, took off at 8.20pm and is estimated to land at 10pm.
Flight G9465 from Sharjah to Delhi, which departed at 1.05pm and was scheduled to land at 5.55pm, touched down at 7.35pm. G9463 from Sharjah to Delhi is scheduled for departure at 11.10pm.
IndiGo
Indian budget airline IndiGo said that although weather conditions have improved, its flights operations in Delhi and Jaipur continue to be affected.
"Although the dust storm has passed, its effects continue to impact flight operations in Delhi and Jaipur. Delays and schedule changes maybe expected as airports work to stabilise operations," the carrier said in an advisory.
"If you're scheduled to travel, we recommend checking your flight status frequently. If needed, explore flexible rebooking options on our website. We're actively monitoring the situation and working to restore normal operations as soon as possible. We appreciate your continued support and understanding," it added.
Air india
India's flagship carrier Air India too issued an advisory because of the weather in Delhi.
"Poor weather, caused by heavy thunderstorms and gusty winds, has affected flight operations across parts of Northern India. Some of our flights to and from Delhi are being delayed or diverted, which is likely to impact our overall flight schedule. We are closely monitoring the situation and are doing our best to minimise the disruption. We advise our guests to check the latest status of their flights before heading to the airport.
Inclement weather
Earlier, Delhi Airport had issued an advisory at 7.15pm (5.45pm UAE time) stating that some flights have been affected due to the weather.
"Due to inclement weather conditions in Delhi, some flights at Delhi Airport are impacted. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused," the airport posted on X.
Indian budget airline IndiGo said that although weather conditions have improved, its flights operations in Delhi and Jaipur continue to be affected.
