Khaleej Times reached out to SpiceJet for a comment, but a response was not immediately available.

Passengers said they had arrived at the airport early in the morning and were left waiting for hours as departure timings kept changing through the day.

Ankur, one of the affected passengers, said he spent the entire day at the airport.

“I have been here since the morning. If they had informed us earlier I would have gone back home instead of waiting all day,” he said.

Several travellers claimed they were forced to wait for hours, with some standing outside the terminal building. Elderly passengers, women and children were among those affected.

Passengers alleged that they did not receive timely or clear communication from the airline regarding the delay and eventual cancellation. Some also complained about a lack of adequate assistance and facilities during the wait.

Airline sources reportedly cited operational and technical reasons for the delay. However, no official statement had been issued at the time of writing.
