India's top airline IndiGo cancels 165 flights due to India-Pakistan fighting
Over two dozen international flights were diverted to avoid Pakistan airspace, as domestic flights in both countries were also disrupted

India's top airline IndiGo said on Wednesday it had cancelled 165 flights from 11 locations, including Srinagar in Kashmir, near the country's north-western border with Pakistan.
IndiGo, which operates over 2,200 flights daily, is among the worst impacted airlines due to fighting between India and Pakistan. Its shares had fallen as much as 3.1 per cent and were trading 1 per cent lower, as of 1:52 pm IST.

India attacked Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday and Pakistan said it had shot down five Indian fighter jets in the worst fighting in more than two decades between the nuclear-armed enemies.
Domestic flights in both countries were also disrupted. India shut several airports and as a result, flights belonging to Air India, SpiceJet and Akasa Air were also cancelled.
A number of flights between Pakistan and the UAE were cancelled early Wednesday morning, with some facing major delays, as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated overnight following airstrikes.
Several Asian airlines re-routed or cancelled flights to and from Europe because of fighting between India and Pakistan.
More than two dozen international flights were diverted to avoid Pakistan airspace. By Wednesday morning local time, airlines had cancelled 52 flights to or from Pakistan, according to FlightRadar24.
There were 57 international flights operating in Pakistan's airspace when India struck, according to a Pakistan army spokesperson.
