Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced the start of flights to Tirana, the capital of Albania, becoming the first UAE-based airline to offer direct flights on this route.

The airline will operate two flights a week between Dubai International (DXB) and Tirana International Airport (TIA) from 28 March.

Emirates will codeshare on this route.

Flights from Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB) to Tirana International Airport (TIA) will operate on Thursdays and Sundays and the service commences from 28 March.

Return Business Class fares from DXB to TIA start from Dh8,000 and Economy Class fares start from Dh2,000. Return Business Class fares from TIA to DXB start from 1,800 euros (Dh7,864) and Economy Class fares start from 420 euros.

“As countries within our flying radius lift travel restrictions, we continue to look for new opportunities to connect previously underserved markets to Dubai,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai.

“The start of direct flights between Dubai and Tirana provides a more convenient travel option for Albanian citizens living in the UAE and for the many visitors who choose to visit our country for leisure, business or as a connection hub. This new bridge will enable more people to discover the beauty of Albania in the heart of the Balkan and Mediterranean region. Albania also offers excellent cuisine and a range of tourist attractions at an affordable price. Albanians are very well-known for their warm hospitality, making visitors from the UAE as well as the GCC feel at home,” said Ermal Dredha, Ambassador of Albania to the UAE.
