A Dubai-bound Air India Express flight was forced to return to Tiruchi International Airport on Monday afternoon (December 1) after the crew detected a technical issue midair.
Times of India, quoting sources, reported that Flight IX 0611 departed Tiruchi at around 1.54pm IST (12.24pm UAE time) and was scheduled to arrive at Dubai International Airport by 6.30pm (5pm UAE time).
However, shortly after takeoff, the crew detected a snag, prompting the pilots to turn back. It landed safely in Tiruchi at 3.50pm (2.20pm UAE time) with 152 people on board.

Airport sources said 11 passengers were offloaded following the return. The remaining 135 travellers, along with six crew members, were shifted to another aircraft through a one-to-one transfer process.
A replacement aircraft was arranged, and the passengers later departed for Dubai at 5.55pm (4.25pm UAE time).
