Full emergency at Delhi airport after Leh-bound flight reports mid-air engine failure

A full emergency was declared at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport early Tuesday morning after a Leh-bound SpiceJet flight reported a mid-air engine failure shortly after departure from Delhi, ANI reported.
There were around 150 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft that was operating the flight SG121. Immediate air return to the Indian capital was initiated just minutes after departure following a malfunction in its number two engine.
When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said a flight operating from Delhi to Leh on Tuesday returned to Delhi after experiencing a technical issue, according to PTI.
