From blistering first drives to landmark launches and ultra-luxury showcases, here’s a curated look at the UAE’s most exciting summer motoring moments:

First Drive: All-new Lamborghini Temarario hybrid supercar

Lamborghini is doing exciting things. First came the Urus SE and Revuelto in 2024, and now, the Temerario. We headed to the Dubai Autodrome to explore the dynamics of the new “baby” Lambo. Lined up in a semi-circle like a rainbow, Temerarios shimmered under the sun, each more striking than the other. The supercar shares the Huracán’s silhouette, but the details are unmistakable: a low-slung, wedge-shaped body, razor-slim headlamps, and massive side air ducts that channel air for cooling and combustion into the mid-mounted 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain. The upward-routed quad exhaust pipes and exposed rear tyres add an extra layer of drama.

I grabbed my helmet and climbed into a 920 PS beast to tackle the rather technical track. 800 PS comes from the ICE alone, which revs to a mind-boggling 10,000 rpm, complemented by an electric motor. The numbers are numbing, but the acceleration is something else entirely. The 0–100 km/h sprint is dispatched in just 2.7 seconds, while top speed stands at a staggering 343 km/h. On the straight, we even saw 270 km/h. Stomp the brakes and the car shreds speed, with just a hint of tail movement as it dives into corners. Turn-in is sharp, but its mid-corner adjustability is pure magic, in the hands of a seasoned driver. We also drove the Temerario equipped with the Alleggerita package, which adds downforce, improves aerodynamics, and trims 25 kg from the kerb weight. At a heftier price, gains are seen on the lap timer.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi unveils Phantom Centenary Private Collection

Rolls-Royce Phantom’s 100th anniversary was celebrated with the reveal of the Phantom Centenary Private Collection in Abu Dhabi, held against the backdrop of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The Phantom’s extraordinary heritage was showcased as Phantom I through Phantom VIII were brought together, charting a century of progress, innovation, and personal expression.

Phantom Centenary introduces new techniques and is the result of over 40,000 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Fitted with rear seats in high-resolution printed fabric developed with a fashion atelier and completed with 160,000 stitches, the Bespoke masterpiece reflects artistry in every detail. The most intricate woodwork ever also debuted, with groundbreaking firsts including 3D marquetry, 3D ink layering, and 24-carat gold leafing. A unique Spirit of Ecstasy was created in homage to the first Phantom, cast in solid 18-carat gold, then plated in 24-carat gold, hallmarked, and enamelled for this collection. A curated trio from the Future Classics collection was also on display.

The Cullinan Neon Nights takes inspiration from Rolls-Royce’s vivid “Neon Nights” palette. The Wraith Opus reflects the immersive Bespoke storytelling of this dynamic grand tourer. The final model, the Ghost Zenith, represents Bespoke detailing and a serene design language.
