LONDON — Arun Bajaj, a prominent dental surgeon turned media entrepreneur, has been named as the new chairman of the Birmingham-based Institute of Asian Businesses (IAB).
He replaces Gurjeet Kaur Bains who, after being the organisation's first woman chairperson, steps down after two years. Bajaj, managing director of the Birmingham-based Radio XL, had previously been vice-chairman of the IAB in 2003.
The IAB works in close coordination with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The two organisations are involved in facilitating trade linkages between companies in the Birmingham area and India.
Bajaj was a dental surgeon and specialised in oral and maxillo-facial surgery at Good Hope Hospital for 12 years. Alongside the dentistry he was also involved in developing the family business, KMS Ltd, which trades in the import and export of motor parts.
