Apple introduces Leopard in Dubai
DUBAI — About 40 per cent of sales to be generated by Arab Business Machine Ltd (ABM) during the first quarter of 2008 will come from customers upgrading their computer software to Apple Mac OS X Leopard.
This according to Layth Sibai, sales director of ABM, Apple's independent marketing company for the Middle East which launched the product yesterday at Virgin Megastore in Dubai for the regional market.
He said the Mac OS X version 10.5 Leopard is packed with over 300 new features and introduces a brand new desktop with Stacks, which provides easy access to files, and a redesigned Finder letting users to browse and share files between multiple Macs.
He added that parents may also control their children's online activities through Leopard, which has automatic identification of web contents not suitable for young audiences including time limits and surfing logs.
He added that the product's retail price is Dh529 for a single user licence and Dh889 for a family pack of five-user licence. Leopard requires at least 512MB of RAM and is designed to run on any Macintosh computer with an Intel processor of 867Mhz or faster.
