Al Habtoor to construct Iris Bay project at Business Bay

DUBAI — Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has signed a contract with Ms. Sheth Estate International to be the main contractor for building the Iris Bay at the Business Bay. Ms. Sheth Estate International is the international arm of the reputed Sheth Group from India.

WS Atkins, the world's leading providers of professional, technology-based consultancy and fourth largest design firm, has been appointed as consultants and architects of the project.

With an estimated value of Dh255 million, the 40-storey Iris Bay tower will be a new landmark in Dubai. It is a unique tower designed in the shape of a half moon. Other features include three level podiums for parking and 36 floors for office use. The external facade will be drafted in glass and concrete.

Al Habtoor Engineering is among the leading construction and engineering companies in the Middle East, having constructed other iconic structures of the region including the seven-star Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dusit Dubai and Shangri-La Hotel. Discussing the scope of work, Riad T. Sadik, managing partner, said: "We will be doing the complete construction works including detailed finishing and maintenance."

During the deal signing ceremony on June 26, 2007, Vimal Agarwal, general manager of Ms. Sheth Estate International Ltd, said he looked forward to a long-lasting relationship with Al Habtoor Engineering.
