The number of guest arrivals into the Emirate of Ajman during the first quarter of the year has increased by 20 per cent, generating total tourism revenue of Dh108million, according to tourism statistics released today by the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD).
The total guests from January to March 2016 was reported at 142,404 and delivered 313,724 guest nights, reflecting 76 per cent hotel apartments occupancy rate, an increase of 22 per cent compared to 62.4 per cent in the same period in 2015. Total tourism revenue also increased by 20 per cent, from Dh90million in Q1 2015 to Dh108million in Q1 2016.
Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of ATDD, said: "The report for the first quarter of 2016 is the result of our effective promotional and marketing outreach to attract different segments of visitors to the emirate of Ajman.
