“We are investigating all possibilities for the financing of this aircraft (A350). We are financing the development of this aircraft. We are well-positioned to finance the development of this aircraft,” he told Reuters in an interview.

A German official told Reuters last month Airbus has abandoned efforts to find a market-based alternative to its government development loans, which is the source of a major transatlantic row.

Meanwhile, Enders also told Reuters on Thursday that the European rival to Boeing was doing its best to deliver the delayed A400M airliner to seven European NATO countries, but said he could not provide a delivery timetable yet.

European arms chiefs want Airbus parent EADS to break its silence over the timetable for the delayed A400M airlifter and are estimating it will be 18 months late, according to a German government report.

In the interview, Enders said: “We are prepared to do our best to deliver our aircraft to our customers.” Asked to give a timetable for the delivery of the A400M planes, he said: “I have no announcement to make at this time”.

The 20 billion euro project to provide airlift capacity to seven European NATO countries has been postponed indefinitely by Airbus Military as the planemaker and its engine producers argue over the blame for flaws in the plane’s turbo-prop power system.
