Advertising giants participate in 40th IAA World Congress

DUBAI — The 40th International Advertising Association’s (IAA) World Congress, which is taking place in Dubai from March 20-23, will see some of the world’s leading corporations and organisations represented at the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC).

The delegation, includes Steve Forbes, CEO of Forbes, Hameed Haroon, CEO of Dawn Group of Publications from Pakistan, Jerry Rao, Chairman and CEO of mphasiS and past Chairman of Nasscom and Jay Rasulo, Chairman o f the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Other luminaries on the schedule comprise John Elkins, Executive Vice President for Visa International, Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic in the United Kingdom, Gregory Lee, Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Electronics, Norman Pearlstine, Senior Advisor, Time Warner Inc, James R. Stengal, Global Marketing Officer for the Proctor & Gamble Company and Emirates’ own Mike Simon, Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications.

Joseph Ghossoub, IAA World President Elect, said: “We are honoured that the business leaders involved head companies which are world renowned for their marketing endeavours. Each one of these companies represents excellent case studies of how both local and global marketing should be achieved.”

The Congress is being organised by the UAE Chapter of the International Advertising Association, under the Congress Chairmanship of Mohammed Al Gergawi.

Running concurrently with the congress, the IAA-UAE chapter has organised an exhibition aimed at advertising and marketing executives. The exhibitors include publishers, broadcasters, radio stations, designers, below the line and point-of-sale suppliers, direct marketeers, printers, research and brand consultancies, as well as stock photography agencies, providing an ideal networking platform for the industry, and an opportunity to view creative work carried out in the region.

The Congress is supported by Khaleej Times, Motivate Publishing, CNN, Dubai TV, Dentsu, Emaar, MBC TV, The Choueiri Group, BBC, Dubai Duty Free, AME Info, Gulf News and FedEx in association with Dubai Media City and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and industry.
