ABU DHABI — Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) has signed a contract with Emirates Dredging Company (EDC) to supply two support vessels for their dredging operations.
ADSB will supply one 19-metre long Work Boat (Multi-cat 1908) and one 12-metre Tugboat (Pushy-cat 1204).
Both vessels are designed by ADSB's Strategic Partner, DAMEN Shipyards of the Netherlands, and will be built and delivered this year. With the latest contract, ADSB's list of contracts now stands at over Dh2 billion.
William Saltzer ADSB's CEO said: "This award marks the first vessels to be awarded by Emirates Dredging to Abu Dhabi Ship Building and we are proud and delighted to have been selected to deliver these vessels. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with EDC."
EDC's General Manager Ahmed Al Masaabi said: "EDC is proud to sign the first contract with ADSB. From my
experience with ADSB, who built similar vessels before, I am sure that a high quality product will be produced by ADSB to meet EDC requirements."
"This first contract with ADSB will not be the last and gives an indication that the cooperation between the two local companies will be continued in the future for the benefit of both."
