"Despite the strong AGCC participation at previous exhibitions, ADIHEX 2005 will see a significant AGCC participation in terms of exhibitors, visitors and amateurs. This strong participation underscores the strength of fraternal bonds amongst AGCC states and citizens’ , said Mohammed Khalef Al Mazroui, Chairman, organising committee of ADIHEX 2005 and members of the emirates falconers club.
ADIHEX 2005 will be held from September 12-16 under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman, Emirates falconers’ club. Al Mazroui added that many AGCC exhibitors have expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the organising committee to encourage falconry, which is an age-old tradition in the Arabian Peninsula. He noted that many exhibitors had been encouraged by the objectives of ADIHEX, notably the concept of promoting sustainable hunting, raising falconer awareness, and promoting hunting and equestrian industry.
"Falconry and horse-riding have been handed from one generation to the next in the Arabian Peninsula. This exhibition serves to enlighten the younger generation about their heritage,’ said Al Mazroui. Among AGCC institutions that are participating at the show are the Kuwaiti falconers club, the second largest club in the AGCC region after the emirates falconers’ club. Another Kuwaiti institution is Al Qanas company, a firm specialised in manufacturing hunting weaponry and paraphernalia. The company has gained an international acclaim as a manufacturer of weapons and hunting equipment.
The famous Kuwaiti market of Kashta is also participating at the show. The Kashta market will showcase a whole range of products, including handmade hunting paraphernalia, excursion equipment, sleeping bags, cooking and tea and coffee utensils. The company manufactures equipment as per requests of the customers. Ramadan hunting equipment market is also making its debut at ADIHEX 2005. Another AGCC company, Gatar is making a significant contribution through its unique participation with Al Khideira farm, which is considered as the first and the largest bird-breeding and training farm.
The farm aims to multiply bred falcons and thereby increase the falcons population in the wild. The activities of the farm seek to promote sustainable hunting. The Qatar equestrian club is participating at the show as part of its efforts to raise awareness and strengthen ties with AGCC equestrian institutions.
Alongside the Qatar companies, the Qatari artist Nadia Al Madhiehaki will showcase her paintings from Saudi Arabia , visitors will remember the enormous hunting vehicle, Al Rimaya, which was exhibited during the last show by the Saudi Zeid Al Hussein group. The Saudi Company Amat poultry will exhibit its products of birds feeds. The firm , which has won ISO- 9001, is making its debut at the show. During the exhibition, which is being organised by the emirates falconers’ club in conjunction with general exhibition authority, the authorities of the convention for the international trade for endangered species (cites), will maintain a presence to assist falconers who would like to take their birds along with them to their countries.
The falconers will be provided with travel documents for their birds, Bahraini artist Abdul Hakim Al Dhaen will participate at the exhibition with a number of his works. meanwhile , a number of AGCC poets are scheduled to recite their best works. They include Hamad Al Saeed and Mubarak Al Ainein from Kuwait, Yassir Al Tuweijari form Saudi Arabia in addition to many others.
