Abu Dhabi signs deal to develop industrial areas
ABU DHABI The Abu Dhabi Economic Department and Jurong International of Singapore yesterday signed an agreement for the development of industrial areas in the emirate.
The nine-month contract was signed by Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Economic Department and JIL Chairman Goh Song Hou. Under the deal JIL will provide industrial development consultancy service, training and a visiting programme to Singapore.
Shaikh Hamed, who is also Chairman of the General Industry Corporation's steering committee, said the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular had seen remarkable industrial development with the establishment of many successful ventures, due to the support of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
