DUBAI - The $4 billion Gulf pharmaceutical market is poised for a 10 per cent growth that is far higher than the global growth rate of the industry, industry sources said.
The UAE, almost a net importer of pharmaceutical products, meets 90 per cent of the pharmaceutical market demand through imports, according to organisers of the 14th Dubai International Pharmaceutical and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (Duphat).
This medical, scientific, and educational event scheduled from March 29 to 31 2009 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, has gained the support of local regional and international professional and educational institutions in the pharmaceutical industry.
They include American Society of Health System Pharmacists, European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences, European Society of Clinical Pharmacists, and Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia.
The International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology, Canadian Pharmacists Association, International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology,
