Rishi Kapoor's younger brother Rajiv passes away at 58

Rajiv Kapoor, aka Chimpu, younger brother of Randhir and late Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, passed away after suffering a massive heart attack in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

The 58-year-old actor was rushed to Inlaks Hospital in Chembur, Mumbai by his family members. Doctors could not save him and he was declared dead on arrival. The actor had was not keeping well and was not active for the last few months.


“I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him. I am at the hospital, waiting for his body," Randhir was stated as saying in a Times of India report.

Neetu Singh Kapoor took to her Instagram to mourn the death of her late brother-in-law. Sharing a picture, she wrote 'RIP.'


The late actor made his debut in Ek Jaan Hain Hum in 1983. He played the leading role in his father Raj Kapoor's last directorial venture Ram Teri Ganga Maili, in 1985 opposite Mandakini. He won a lot of critical praise for his role in the movie. He also produced Henna in 1991 and made his directorial debut with the movie, Prem Granth. Both movies starred his late brother Rishi, who passed away last April from leukemia.

Celebrities took to the social media to pay tribute to the late actor.
