UAE’s Exhibition Industry Surges Ahead: Al Rumaithy
DUBAI — Staff Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithy, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, told Nation Shield Journal in statement on the occasion of Dubai International Airshow 2009, that a series of the UAE achievements in the field of the exhibition industry have surpassed the regional borders to the international horizon.
He underlined that the Dubai Airshow expresses the confidence and trust in the UAE as a host country under our wise leadership.
“The Dubai Airshow presents several benefits for the Armed Forces cadre since some of them play an active part in this show through adequate preparation, organisation and implementation. Those specialised in particular make heavy use of their extensive administrative, organising and commanding expertise and that reflect their discipline and their usual work as a team”, Lt. General Al Rumaithy added.
Following is the text of the statement:
“As we witness the 11th edition of Dubai Airshow which coincides with the fifth anniversary of the demise of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, it comes to our memory, while viewing the present in which we live, what the late Shaikh Zayed has achieved overcoming the past’s cruel circumstances and how with the support of his brothers built a modern state that symbolised his future vision.
UAE’s blessed march continues under the wise leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and with the support of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highness Members of the Supreme Federal Council, Rulers of the Emirates. The UAE’s strategy is based on a clear-cut vision and absolute determination to realise all-out development according to carefully-studied plans.
This development will continue to serve as the basis for the exhibition industry and national achievements. What we see and perceive in the UAE today, despite the world financial crisis, expresses clearly the great international appreciation for the UAE exhibitions’ continuous success.
This is not strange in the UAE, which is considered today as an international hub that attracts several investments in the commercial sector since the basis and assets of the exhibition industry are provided for and set in readiness for the success of this vital sector including infrastructure, geographic and strategic site that enhances confidence in the state establishments and national cadre which gained wide and stable expertise in several fields that help in developing the exhibitions industry and creates an income to be added to the national income.
The UAE Armed Forces works in co-operation with the state establishments responsible for organising these exhibitions and conferences to enable them to achieve the utmost benefits possible.
The follow up and concern by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces are the main reason for the international appreciation that reflects the pioneering position reached by the UAE in the exhibition industry field.

The Dubai Airshow presents several benefits to the Armed Forces cadre since some of them play an active part in this show through adequate preparation, organisation and implementation.
