The Typhoon, an agile, multi-role aircraft, specially optimised for high-altitude, supersonic air combat, while retaining considerable ground-attack capabilities, will be flown by the UK’s Royal Air Force.

The aircraft is built by a four-nation consortium comprising BAE Systems of the UK, Alenia Aeronautica of Italy, EADS Deutschland and EADS Spain.

Alison Weller, director of show organiser F&E Aerospace, said she was pleased to welcome the RAF to the Dubai Airshow.
