I am a single woman living in Dubai for almost five years. While I do enjoy my space and independence, I miss having a companion to share my life with. I don’t meet too many people, and what was once a small concern about not having a life partner is deepening with age. What can I do? — Prakriti

Dear Prakriti, I understand that you enjoy your own space and independence. I also understand that as you get older you have a deepening desire to have a loving companion to share your life with.

When you ask me what you can do, I suggest you address your wish to be with someone special by making an effort to meet more people. Right now, with the Covid pandemic, it is more difficult to meet people since we are socially distancing ourselves and many events have been cancelled. I believe though, that in the near future, we will all be able to socialise safely again.

In Dubai, it is possible to use the Meet-Up Dubai platform to meet people who share your interests, whether that be sports activities, cooking classes, reading and more. When you begin to socialise more, you will meet people you like, including eligible men. It is also possible to meet others through family members, work colleagues, and friends.

It will take time and effort to meet Mr. Right, but ultimately it will be worthwhile for you.
