Zayed sends letter to Musharraf

ISLAMABAD-The UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has sent a letter to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on developments in the region and cooperation between the two countries.

UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, who is also UAE's Non-Resident Ambassador to Afghanistan, delivered the letter to President Musharraf when the latter received him at the President House here yesterday.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in various fields.

Mr Shamsi said that President Musharraf expressed his appreciation for the efforts being made by Shaikh Zayed in support of cooperation in various areas between the UAE and Pakistan.

He told Wam that Pakistan had always been in Shaikh Zayed's mind, adding that President Musharraf had asked him to convey his greetings and well-wishes to Shaikh Zayed. He also wished him good health.

President Musharraf said that he regarded Shaikh Zayed as a senior brother from whom he takes advice, seeks consultations and benefits from his experiences, Mr Shamsi added.
