Zayed gets Ramadan greetings
ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has received cables of greetings from Muslim leaders on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
The leaders are His Majesty, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Presidents Bashar Al Assad of Syria, Zine Al Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia, Omar Al Bashir of Sudan, Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen and Megawati Sukarnoputri of Indonesia. Kuwaiti, Qatari and Bahraini top officials also greeted Shaikh Zayed.
His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received similar cables from King Hamad, Tunisian Prime Minister Mohammed Al Ghanoushi and Indonesian Vice-President Hamza Hazer.
Shaikh Zayed and Shaikh Maktoum also received cables of thanks from President Hu Jintao of China in reply to greetings they sent to him on his country’s national day.
