Zayed foundation to inaugurate projects in India, Philippine

ABU DHABI — The Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works (ZFCHW) is inaugurating two new educational projects in India and the Philippines with a total cost of AED 14.5 millions.

The Zayed Women College in New Delhi, India and Zayed Islamic Centre in Jolo, Philippines are aimed at giving a long-term boost to education and human development as well as providing specialised expertise to the community in conformity with the instructions and recommendations of the UAE founding father the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, said Director General of ZFCHW Mohammed bin Obaid Al Dhaheri who is leading a delegation to both countries to inaugurate the two said projects.

The Abu Dhabi-based foundation receives continuous support from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and construction of such projects is in line with instructions from General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The construction of such projects is based on extensive studies by the foundation’s consultative committee and specialised expertise, added Al Dhaheri.

The Indian ambassador to the UAE, Mr. Talmiz Ahmed praised ZFCHW as a pioneer charity, which has strong presence in India and other Asian countries and the Zayed Women College in New Delhi is a real and sustainable investment in human development.

Mr. Ahmed expressed thanks to Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works Shaikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the generous support.

A total of AED 25 millions in humanitarian and charity aid has been offered by ZFCHW since 1993 to India (AED 15 millions) and the Philippines (AED 10 millions).
