Suraj, 23, was stabbed over half a dozen times by Neeraj and his brothers Jeetu and Ankit in Sangam Vihar area on Saturday evening when he showed to area residents a clipping of Neeraj making obscene gestures to women while bathing.
Suraj was taken to hospital by his relatives but was declared brought dead at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.
Suraj was married and was working as a ward boy at the Army RR Hospital in Delhi Cantonment.
After the clip was shared on Whatsapp, Neeraj's mother had objected and a brawl ensued between the two families, leading to the murder, police said.
"Angry locals overpowered Neeraj and severely thrashed him, before handing him over to police. His brothers managed to escape," police said. Suraj had allegedly made the clipping on Friday.
Suraj and Neeraj earlier had a heated exchange over the recording of the video clip. Suraj had warned Neeraj not to bathe in the open, Biswal added.
"Neeraj was arrested on the statement of Bunty, Suraj's younger brother. We are looking for Jeetu and Ankit," the officer said.
Suraj's wife Tara said: "The three culprits should be sentenced to life. They had threatened to eliminate him on Friday, and carried out the threat. They have ruined my future as well as that of my three minor children."
