YAL-UAE collects over 130 tonnes of goods for war-hit

DUBAI - The Young Arab Leaders - UAE Chapter (YAL-UAE) has initiated a charity drive for the crisis hit people of Lebanon following the call of the UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and the Ruler of Dubai.

In cooperation with the UAE Lebanese Friendship Committee, YAL-UAE members gathered more than 130 tonnes of relief material, including food items, canned milk, blankets, tents and other basic needs to support the displaced families of war-torn Lebanon.

Muhammad Khammas, Vice-President, YAL-UAE Chapter, said: “We hope that our modest initiative will help our brothers in Lebanon to live through this crisis and ease their suffering. Our campaign is in response to the initiative of the UAE Rulers, and in support of Red Crescent’s work in Lebanon.”

Nassib Buwairi, Board Member, YAL-UAE, said: “Our efforts will be ongoing, and we hope it makes a crucial difference to the crisis-hit people of Lebanon.”

The Young Arab Leaders comprises a network of young Arab men and women who have reached unprecedented levels of success.

Currently in prominent positions of responsibility, YAL members sincerely believe that their efforts can have an impact on their communities, countries and the region as a whole.
