Workshops on perils of trafficking

ABU DHABI — Dr Abdul Rahim Al Awadi, assistant under-secretary for International Cooperation and Planning at the Ministry of Justice and a member of the National Anti-human Trafficking Committee, has said that a series of workshops will be organised by the committee in a number of countries to apprise the international community of the real magnitude of human trafficking.

These activities will be held under a new plan devised by the committee, he added.

The workshops, he explained, would explore the effective mechanisms to combat human trafficking and review the UAE’s efforts in this respect.

The committee had recently held its first meeting under the leadership of Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, the Minister of State for FNC Affairs.
