Worker falls to death from 23rd floor
SHARJAH — A construction labourer died after he fell from 23rd floor of a building in Al Majaz area, police said yesterday. Investigators said the accident was caused by “carelessness and failure to abide by safety steps”.
The Asian labourer lost his balance and fell as he was working on the site. Brig. Saleh Ali Al Mutawa, director of Sharjah Police, expressed concern over such accidents that have increased in the recent past. He underlined the danger of hiring unskilled labourers for jobs that need skills.
